“This Town” is inspired by an autumn drive around the band’s rural hometown. There’s not much there, both physically and figuratively. The polarity of nothingness coupled with the amazing drive found in the kids that live there is astounding. It takes a lot of self determination and belief to step out knowing there is no safety net or support for yourself or your art. The song was written in the spirit of jumping out and giving 100% regardless of how bleak the outcome may seem while continually struggling with personal uncertainty.
